Walker Celano is a family-run business in its 35^th year of operation. With a history dating back to 1911 and almost 120 years of combined experience in custom and commercial refrigeration, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide highly bespoke, individually engineered and quality focused refrigeration solutions.

Over the years we have produced refrigeration on a mass production scale for Australia’s leading supermarket chains, manufactured and supplied custom refrigeration to refrigeration contractors and manufacturers and worked with some of the best in the hospitality industry. We have also worked with clients to design, develop and manufacture new equipment and systems that have seen them gain a distinct and long-lasting competitive edge.

Our skill set also expands to custom fit-out solutions and metalwork in both the commercial and residential sector, having worked with many architects, designers, builders and contractors over the years to realise their concepts.

We are the quiet achievers of the Australian Refrigeration Manufacturing Industry and we love what we do. Our bespoke products are designed and manufactured on site in our state-of-the-art facility in Preston, Victoria from the highest quality of materials. From design and prototype to full-scale production, we have the experience and expertise to meet your needs and deliver a product that lasts the test of time.

The origins of Walker Celano Refrigeration date back to 1911, starting out as Walker Shop Fitters and specialising in the manufacture of display counters for retail stores across Melbourne. After the Second World War, Walker Shop Fitters expanded to introduce refrigerated cabinets. In 1967 the company rebranded as Walker Refrigerated Cabinets P/L and they became the preferred manufacturer and supplier to Australia’s leading Supermarket chains.

In 1983, at just 24 years of age, Lorenzo Mingerulli founded Celano Refrigeration. Manufacturing a range of custom refrigerated cabinets for restaurants, cafes, function centres, delicatessens and manufacturing facilities, Lorenzo quickly gained a reputation for his hard work, unbeatable quality, innovation and ingenuity.

In 1995 the two companies merged to become Walker Celano Refrigeration P/L. From this joint venture and a continued relationship with the Supermarket Industry came the development of the Aisle Mate™ which can be found in over 1000 supermarkets and convenience stores Australia-Wide, the refrigeration development for Coles Click and Collect, as well as the development and patenting of several other unique refrigerated products.

Today Lorenzo, together with his son Philip and brother Michael, lead a small but highly skilled and valued team. Walker Celano is a quietly achieving small family business and the fact that they still service refrigerators they made 35 years ago is something they are extremely proud of.
